Hello, I’m Laura, the maker behind Greengill Pottery.

I’m a multidisciplined artist working across numerous creative industries, having forged a professional career in graphic design, illustration, photography and animation over the last 20 years.

I found my way to clay back in the spring of 2024 and discovered its just what my creative soul was yearning for. Something more tactile, and focused. Something that would take me back to where I started, drawing with an actual pencil, painting with actual paint. And something that requires me to be more intentional with what I do. You can’t Ctrl+Alt+Delete a peice of clay!

A 6 week course and studio membership for well over a year later, here I am. Still learning something every time I throw, trim, glaze….and so on (theres a lot involved). But ready to put my work out to the world.

My practise focuses greatly on form to create functional homeware with inspiration taken from living on the edge of the Lake District where the fells meet the sea, influenced greatly by my travels and all mixed with my eternal yearn for the ocean.
